Theatre synopsis includes: The multi-award winning solo play, "..four one-legged men!" ; Clay in "Dutchman"; Sheridan Whiteside in "The Man Who Came To Dinner"; File in "The Rainmaker"; Guildenstern in "Hamlet"; Robert in Schnitzler's "La Ronde"; Dr. Lanyon in "Dr. Jeckyl & Mr. Hyde"; and Elvira in a spoof of "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane". Film and Television synopsis includes: "The Summer of Sam"; "Malcolm X"; "Homicide"; and several industrials. As a performance artist, he has appeared numerous times at: "Artscape" ( Maryland 's lar gest arts festival); " Dixon Place " (NY); 14-Karat Cabaret/Maryland Art Place ; and Performance Space 122 (NY).

He is an above-knee amputee, having survived cancer for almost 30 years. He is one of the country's most active physically challenged performers. As a member of the award-winning "Mad Hatters" educational theater company, he worked as a performer, writer and marketing specialist. Mr. Corbin toured the country in educational theater programs he wrote that were designed to educate the public on the plight of individuals with disabilities and special needs. He performed in a variety of venues and events including: Senator Bob Dole's Foundation ( Chicago ); The Patawatomi Indian Nation ( Michigan ); The Wisconsin Teacher's Conference ( Madison ); The International Federation of Social Worker's Conference ( Minnesota ); and The Goodwill Industries of America Conference ( Washington , DC ).

As a playwright and performer, he is the recipient of Individual Artist Awards in Playwriting from The Maryland State Arts Council and The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA); a Theater Fellowship from NYSCA; the prestigious Gregory Mil lar d Fellowship from The New York Foundation for the Arts; and The Performance Art Fund from The Franklin Furnace/Jerome Foundations. He wrote and co-directed three nationally recognized infomercials for the US Census Bureau's 1990 Count. The infomercials were featured on "Nightline" and "CNN". They were a hit at the 1990 National Conference of Mayor's in Atlanta . The infomercials received a Governor's citation from the State of Maryland , a Mayor's citation from the City of Baltimore , and an award from the US Census Bureau.

As an arts administrator, Mr. Corbin was the first Director of Performing Arts Programs at The Maryland State Arts Council. He also served as a panelist or juror for: The New Jersey State Council on the Arts, The National Black Theater Festival, The Virginia Commission on Art & Culture, The Theater Association of Pennsylvania, and The Council on the Arts & Humanities for Staten Island .

He is a graduate of The University of Maryland ( Baltimore County ) with a Degree in Visual & Performing Arts w/ Theater Emphasis. He has also received training from: Bill Martin; Obie Winner, Walt Whitcover; The Media Access Office in Hollywood ; The Frank Silvera Writer's Workshop and the famed Negro Ensemble Company's famed Playwriting program.

WILLIAM MARTIN is an award-winning freelance director, playwright, dramaturg, and acting coach. After receiving his Ph.D. in theatre history from the University of Wisconsin , he began his directing career staging operas with many Metropolitan Opera notables including Jerome Hines, Eileen Farrell, and Eleanor Steber. His first Broadway venture was the Tony-nominated "Best Musical" The Lieutenant for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination for "Best Director '74-75". Since that time he has established himself as a director of both musical and non-musical theatre with productions On and Off-Broadway and in the regional and university theatre arenas with such names as: Jason Alexander, Barbara Barrie, Barry Bostwick, George Grizzard, Salome Jens, Deborah Kerr, Eartha Kitt, Frank Langella, and Dick Shawn.

During his thirty-year professional career, Dr. Martin is considered a premier "actors' director" and a reputed adjudicator and instructor for university and theatre conferences. He is the creator of his "Character Kinesphere Technique". Among his produced plays are his own adaptations of The Three Musketeers, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Last Unicorn , and his co-authored That Man Jefferson , which was credited in The Best Plays of 1976 as the "best of the Bicentennial theatrical offerings". His most recent Off-Broadway production was his musical farce A Naughty Knight .

Dr. Martin is also a theatre historian, dramaturg and co-founder/vice president of Lyric Theatre International, which is a research and publishing organization restoring the entire canon of John Philip Sousa's comic operas, including The Glass Blowers , which was produced last year at Lincoln Center 's New York City Opera to successful reviews. If all this were not enough, he is also the manager of the Applause Theatre and Cinema Bookstore in New York City and is a major force in the resurgence of that major theatre/cinema bookstore.

In addition to his being a member-in-good-standing of The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers (since 1975), ASCAP, The Dramatist Guild, and a member and past-trustee of The National Theatre Conference, and honorary board member of New Jersey Repertory Company, Dr. Martin is a board member and past-president of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation.
